UN Children’s agency (UNICEF) has announced the launch of a cryptocurrency fund as a method to receive, hold and disburse donations. These donations will be used to finance technologies that benefit children and young people around the world.
High-level gubernamental institutions and charitable causes have decided not to turn their backs on the crypto world.
The most famous of all, bitcoin (BTC), will be the cryptocurrency accepted in this fund for solidarity purposes. But it won’t be alone, ether (ETH) will also be welcomed by UNICEF. Moreover, the first contributions will be done by the Ethereum Foundation, a non-profit foundation under the wings of the platform that gives the name.
And you? Do you want to collaborate with this good initiative? Dare to buy bitcoins quickly, easily and safely.
Inside the UN there is an innovation program, known as the United Nations Innovation Network, led by UNICEF and the World Food Program (WFP). The network is responsible for researching the potential of blockchain technology in the current era. Therefore, it is not surprising that they have finally launched their own cryptocurrency fund.
Thus, UNICEF becomes the first United Nations organization to make transactions with cryptocurrencies
