Stellar Lumens is already one of the 7 cryptocurrencies used to top up the Bitnovo Bitcard

This 2018 has been a tough year, as it has been protagonist of a great volatility of cryptocurrencies and, on the other hand, of the appearance of hundreds of new tokens, which have filled and enriched the horizon of blockchain technology and the world of cryptography.

In Bitnovo we want to conclude this year by contributing to disseminate and support the benefits of this technology, already accepted globally, with the introduction of a token that has a very special meaning for us, for the characteristics and the noble cause for which it was created.

From today, Bitnovo introduces Stellar Lumens among the cryptocurrencies used to top up the anonymous card Bitcard.

As our users will remember, a few months ago in Bitnovo we launched 4 new coins to top up the Bitcard card.

With the introduction of Stellar Lumens, it will now be possible to top up the Bitcard with 7 different types of cryptocurrenciesbitcoin (BTC), Dash (DASH), Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ripple (XRP), Zcash (ZEC) and Stellar Lumens (XLM). ).

Why Stellar Lumens?

Stellar is a network managed by a non-profit organization: Stellar Development Foundation.

Lumens is the digital currency of the Stellar network, represented by its symbol ‘XLM’.

Like the other cryptocurrencies, this token uses a decentralized blockchain protocol.

What differentiates Lumens from the other tokens is that Stellar’s payment network offers a faster, cheaper and safer platform for the money transfer around the world, without geographical restrictions.

That is because Stellar is bound by a technology designed to provide a distributed payment system (Distributed Ledger), a unique system in the blockchain ecosystem, being based on a consensus algorithm (the Stellar Consensus Protocol) that does not depend on the miners, but of the entire community.

For this reason Stellar transactions are carried out in a very fast period of time, which can vary from 2 to 5 seconds, which considerably reduces the cost (0.00001 lumens per transaction) and the slowness of transactions, overcoming one of the limits of many other cryptocurrencies.

But the most important characteristic that turns Stellar into a special token is the role that this coin plays as a bridge between the cryptocurrencies community and the traditional centralized financial institutions, through the inclusion of unbanked services.

The Stellar network in fact allows the exchange of both fiat and crypto and transactions in multiple currencies.

Stellar Lumens and the fight against poverty

We already know the difficulty of access that the most needy people have to the banking and financial system.

What the Stellar Development Foundation proposes is to eliminate these barriers and combat poverty, creating a network that allows people from all over the world, especially those who do not have access to a bank account, to avoid banks, to exchange money through transactions in multiple currencies, so that they can freely exchange, store and access money.

Thanks to the inclusion of XLM in our vouchers and gift cards, and now in the Bitcard, we completely closed the circle to be able to provide a financial inclusion service, thanks to the blockchain technology offered by Stellar.

Stellar Lumens (XLM) today reaches the  fourth place in the total market capitalization (source coinmarketcap.com), becoming one of the most dominant currencies in the market.

We do not need any more words to express our respect and support for a crypto that has reached to fully follow the philosophy that is at the core of bitcoin: to put citizens, especially the most needy, at the center of a more transparent, fair and safe economic system.

Today we are very happy to have reached this other important goal.
